The University Radon Network (URN)

Within UK Universities there is a significant amount of academic research occurring on radon. However, much of that research is piecemeal and rarely is it part of a long term programme. Universities should be driving the agenda and implementation of radon research programmes that deliver answers to many of the pressing problems. The Department of Environmental Science at the  University of Bradford maintains the University Radon Network (URN). This forum will enable UK researchers to identify key areas of research and to work together in new and dynamic programmes that will move forward the radon agenda.

Universities (founding members) that are currently actively participating in URN include:-

  • Aberystwyth University;
  • Cardiff University;
  • Imperial College of Science and Technology;
  • Leeds Metropolitan University;
  • Nottingham Trent University;
  • Oxford University;

  • University College Northampton;

  • University of Bournemouth; and

  • University of Derby.
